Dag voor jonge onderzoekers (JOD) 2012
The TULIPS program is open for young clinician scientists in child health and pediatrics. PhD students, at least in their second year of a PhD program and post-docs aiming at developing their own research line are invited to participate. TULIPS has an open program for all TULIPS members, and two Curricula, which are defined under the tabs 'PhD Curriculum' and 'Post-doc Curriculum'.
TULIPS organizes workshops, the TULIPS Annual Symposium and the Grant Writing Weekend. Next to this, TULIPS aims to form a Network, which will offer all members the possibility of networking with other TULIPS members. To this purpose, a web-based communication forum is under development.
You do not have to be a member of the NVK to become a general member of the TULIPS network. Information about becoming a TULIPS member can be found under 'contact'.

The TULIPS Curriculum for PhD students is meant for thirty young clinician-scientists in Pediatrics or Child Health during the last 2 years of a PhD program. PhD students at least in their 2nd year of the PhD program at the start of the Curriculum can apply.
The Curriculum for PhD students consists of 10 modules of interactive multidisciplinary training sessions at different University Medical Centers and the Annual TULIPS Symposium. During the course of the Curriculum participants may consider attending the Annual CCHCSP Symposium. The Curriculum will start every 2 years in January of odd years. The Curriculum consists of 3 hour sessions (1:30pm – 4:30pm). Participants prepare for each session by completing a web-based case or scenario, which requires about 30 minutes to complete. Each of the modules and the corresponding web-based cases have been developed by experts in these areas. During the development of these modules, and especially as trainees participate, feedback will be used in order to improve upon the program.
Participation fee of the Curriculum for PhD students will be €500,- per year. The fee will be used to organize the sessions and includes participation in the Annual TULIPS Symposium in both years. The fee excludes participation in the grant writing weekend. Participants are required to be (special) member of the Paediatric Association of the Netherlands.
